Meet: Syeda Ghazala, the first woman to run a police station in Pakistan’s port city of Karachi.
Back in 1994 when she quit her job as a teacher and joined the police force, Ghazala, never imagined that one day she would be in charge of a police station with more than 100 male police officers.
This appointment represents a big step in women’s empowerment since, Women have traditionally not worked outside the home in Pakistan.
