Judge orders millionaire’s ex-wife to jet a job

Tracey Susan Wright was told by a UK Judge to get a job. Ever since her 2008 divorce from ex-husband Malcolm Wright, she hasn’t worked.

He explained to the judge that after divorcing he was expected to pay  £75,000 [$115,665] a year, but he wanted to have the bill reduced arguing that he shouldn’t have to support his unemployed wife since she’d make no effort to look for work.  In their divorce settlement, Mrs. Wright came out of the with a £450,000, mortgage-free house.

Well that gravy train is over, the judge decided that she didn’t have the right to be “supported for life” on her husband’s dime.

“Judge Lynn Roberts ruled in favor of Mr. Wright, telling Tracey to “just get on with it” and get a job like the “vast numbers of other women with children.”

The judge explained the original amount Wright was ordered to pay his ex-wife was not intended to provide her with an income for life!

Wright’s support payments will be decreased over a five-year period, ultimately ending when he reaches retirement.

Was this court ruling too severe?
