Meet Mahogany Geter, 25, a model in Tennessee that spent her childhood hiding her body and avoiding mirrors. Geter was born with lymphedema, a disease that causes a build-up of lymph fluid in the body’s tissues. Geter spent years hiding her body until she was approached by a professional photographer that wanted to help her. She was skeptical at first, but once she went for it, this decision changed her life. Geter began booking jobs and also posts images of herself on social media to raise awareness about lymphedema. According to today, ‘”I discovered there was this confident, bad bitch inside of me,” she reveals.’
