“When Jacey realized this was happening, she climbed into the front seat and clutched the steering wheel while the car was driving down a curvy road.”

Jacey drove the car into the parking lot, driving it in circles since she didn’t know how to the car, until she attracted the attention of other parents that finally helped her with the vehicle.

Jacey told NBC News that “I was really scared.”

It’s a good thing this “little driver” took action despite her fear, otherwise the outcome could have been very different.

“My daughter was amazing and she saved us that morning,” Samantha Jones said.

The Michigan state police agrees and awarded Jacey on March 12, 2015 with a Distinguished Citizens Award.
