Woman creates pet bereavement petition after getting fired for refusing to go to work after death of her dog.

A Glascow woman claims she was fired for taking a day to mourn the death of her dog.

Emma McNulty, a restaurant employee created a petition to change bereavement laws to include bereavement for pets after being fired.

In an article by the telegraph, Emma “claims management did not accept the death of her pet as a valid excuse for missing work and refused to grant her a day off to mourn the Yorkshire terrier who she “grew up with”.

Emma’s petition has resonated with a lot of people, it’s gotten over 3,000 signatures.
